Still the Sighing (Poem)

Shades of life unfold,
Single file and slow,
The morn that waits,
Awake, eyes open, know

Each day disappoints,
No greeting, no festivals,
Joy beyond the veil,
Far away, us animals

Actions that we took
Clocks that tick, cannot untock.

Your face beyond,
Snow white and lingering,
Lowers the veil again,
Old wrinkles, fingering.

Gingerly, I call it,
Old aches, to light,
That glimmer, shape and
See the unfaded delight.

Never more gilded,
These whispers opened me,
Dreams awakened this,
A scattered glee,
A forgotten bliss.

Never lost,
Never gone,
Never again alone.

Regrets lay my bed,
For each night,
They lay aside.

Your face lies ever beyond the veil.
